“Finding words to express what I do is difficult for me. I paint from an intuitive reaction to the canvas and paint. I begin, progress and complete the work. Sometimes it comes quickly, at other times the painting seems to have a different idea leading me down an unexpected path of surprises.”

Lydia sees the possibility of a painting in almost everything she looks at and tries to transfer the joy she feels while creating a painting into her work. She loves color and uses it lavishly. Her work was shown in many galleries on the Southern California Coast before moving to Texas.

Depicting landscapes with oil paints has been my main emphasis, whether from photos or plein air. Studying and working in other mediums from time to time continues to be of interest and a learning process for me.
I hope you enjoy my 40 years of photography. I shoot every chance I get...when at home in Texas, when on business trips and while on vacation. I specialize in Travel Pictures, Nature Pictures, Wildlife Pictures, Sunrise Pictures, Sunset Pictures, Architectural Pictures, and Astrophotography.

For me art is a way to depict a real-world subject in a mythical world setting. Combining my personal history as a 4th Generation Texan with the cultural mythology of the American West I try to create works of art that let me travel to this world in hopes that the viewer will join me on the journey.
