I am on a lifelong journey of self discovery and self healing. Left in the dark, my hurts and wounds from the past form into masks, armor, and fears I believe we are all in need of healing: a journey of forgiveness, acceptance, faith, and love. My art expresses the truth that as we experience the redemption and restoration of our brokenness, we can express that light into a hurting world.
I create using acrylic paints and mediums, as well as other media such as charcoal, pigment sticks, and collage. Multiple layers are applied with palette knives, and both visual and tactical texture give each piece added interest and depth. Although most of the layers will never be seen, each layer directs the next and influences the whole. Scraping into the paint and excavating parts of the previous layers brings the past into the present with beauty and kinship.
Like the revealing of under layers, my past must be brought out of the dark and into the light. I am on a circular path to wholeness, loving the imperfections, and finding beauty in the imperfect. My art manifests truths of the heart: the desire to be whole, to be courageous, to love ourselves and others, and to have a living hope that leads to unstoppable joy.
The Intersection of Art and Advocacy
I use my art to advocate for our environment because now more than ever, it's up to us--art can be a powerful force for change.
I am a Certified Texas Master Naturalist and macro nature photographer, creating portraits, but of bugs, not people. I never stage photographs, instead choosing to capture the environment in which I find each subject.
50 States of Pollinators is my current project. (https://www.shannon.photos/50-states-pollinators/)
Design and math led me to Art, Design and Architecture degrees. With acrylics, I develop forms and colors with a sense of motion, tension, and balance. My work has been described as celebratory and playful, non-derivative, modern, and associative. I believe that Art is a spiritual endeavor.

Lorrie has been a picture framer for over 14 years. She owns and runs LT Custom Framing & Creations in Wimberley, Texas. She has a small gallery in her shop, showing her work along with other local artists. She’s been an artist for over 30 years dabbling in Oil painting, Color Pencil, Pencil, Sculpture, and now Clay on Canvas (Clay sculpted on canvas and painted with acrylics) along with wire wrapping jewelry.
I love art. It’s an expression of one’s self that no one else can take away from you. I started drawing when I was in high school and have never stopped. I have tried several different mediums including; sculpture, painting, drawing, print making, lithography, and now I have begun to do mixed media (clay on canvas) along with wire wrapping jewelry. I love creating things that inspire other people and making them feel good about themselves; I guess that’s why I got into framing pieces for other people too.
Lorrie’s work can be seen on her website, at her shop LT Custom Framing & Creations, Miss Mae’s BBQ, Fine Art America, Etsy, Art O Mat and other various places in Wimberley, TX.

Channe’s multi-faceted work ranges from impressionist nature compositions to the free-flowing realism in her portraits. She has developed a series of narrative character studies, whose imagery is both confrontational and thought provoking – but the natural beauty surrounding her home in the Hill Country is her primary source of artistic passion and inspiration.
Channe is currently exhibiting her work in Bent Tree Gallery at 105 Henson Road, on the square in Wimberley.
