Here we are physically cemented to the earth by gravity. But our imaginations stretch and soar taking us beyond our planet and connecting us with far places in the universe. Being part of this do we indeed live and bloom in a cosmic garden? ... I am exploring this connection in my new artwork.

I am blessed to be in the middle of what God designed me to do, to create to bring heaven to the ends of the earth. There is a new artistic awakening in my spirit as a self-taught artist. I started painting angels in November of 2016 and am expanding to other subjects as my confidence grows.

My studies of the American Color Field Movement are the inspiration for may paintings over the last few years; the way these artists simply apply a palate of rich saturated colors affects me deeply. In my own work, I seek to explore the emotional resonances of abstract color composition.

The majority of colors in my paintings will probably never be repeated because of the methods I use in painting. By adding, subtracting and manipulating the paint, my method creates unique colors each time. It is sort of alchemy. It is still about the color.

Animal portraits are my favorite. During the process of creating my pieces, I go through life, where certain songs inspire me for different animals, I remember how I felt. I can look at each painting and remember everything. They are little reminders of the chapters in my life that I am sharing.

I love knowing that threads have played an important part in our human history for thousands of years. If I could magically produce a weaver from eons ago I know we could happily sit together creating cloth. I love combining colors and textures on my loom reflecting what is on my mind & in my heart.

"The Hole in the Wall Gang"
I have painted for over twenty years. As an engineer, I felt I needed more exposure to the relaxation and the self-expression artistic painting could give me. I thoroughly enjoy evaluating the scenes Mother Nature loans me to express my own values and feelings.

I have such fun hunting for unique and unusual beads. Classes in various techniques continue to inspire me to always feel free to experiment with new designs. I feel so much pleasure when a client smiles and shows excitement as she holds a necklace and says, "This one is perfect!"

After putting my art experience on the shelf for years, I decided to explore every opportunity to be creative once again. This organization and this community have provided inspiration and instruction to do just that. I am currently using alcohol ink to capture landscapes of Texas.
